‘Liberated Public Services’: BOP expertise informs galvanising Demos Taskforce paper
It’s no secret that UK public services are in crisis – affecting our wellbeing, health and economy significantly. But is there a credible, coherent and compelling alternative to the current model?
BOP has contributed to the latest paper from the Demos Future Public Services Taskforce: ‘Liberated Public Services: A new vision for citizens, professionals and policy makers’. This blueprint for reform draws on local government case studies to sketch out a new era of ‘liberated’ public services, whereby citizens, communities and professionals have the freedom to innovate locally – while providing central government with a broader, more strategic role, supporting learning and best practice.
The paper also discusses a vision for how to enable this reform, analysing the ‘theory of change’ and demanding a new way of delivering vital public services effectively.
